Event: Memorandum of Arab Senior Government Officials to the High Commissioner

User login

All Palestinian senior officials, without exception and including judges, sign a joint memorandum protesting British pro-Zionist policies and submit it to the High Commissioner. The memorandum (drafted by Musa Alami, acting solicitor general in the Mandate Government, and George Antonius, an advisor to the AHC) expresses support for the Palestinian national demands as formulated by the committee. In its July 1937 report, the Peel Commission states that "the attitude of Arab officials precludes any extension of their employment in the higher posts of the Administration, including the Judiciary."
