The Jewish Colonization Association (JCA) is founded in London by German Baron Maurice de Hirsch to help “establish [Jewish] colonies in various parts of North and South America and other countries for agricultural, commercial, and other purposes.” The JCA will start supporting Jewish agricultural settlements in Palestine in 1896.
