Continuing Exodus: Jordan River

A new temporary bridge across the Jordan River, near the destroyed Allenby Bridge, now links Jordan and the West Bank which has been occupied by Israel since the Arab-Israeli conflict in June 1967. In the months following the hostilities thousands of new refugees - many of them from the Gaza Strip - crossed to east Jordan and the flow, though diminished, still continues.
